Cabinet Pulls

We recommend using the 1/3 rule - divide the length of your cabinet by three. For a 36 inch cabinet, that gives you a 12 inch cabinet pull. It’s a simple sizing guideline used by designers and showrooms alike to keep hardware proportions feeling balanced and intentional.

For smaller cabinet doors (under 24"): Choose pulls between 3" and 7" (center-to-center or overall length). This size works well for narrow drawers or compact bathroom vanities.

For medium cabinet doors (24"–36"): Pulls between 7" and 12" in center-to-center or overall length are a good fit. This range offers balance while still making a visual statement on most kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

For larger doors or drawers (over 36"): Go with pulls 12" or longer in length to match the scale of oversized drawers, built-ins, or panel-ready appliances. These longer pulls offer both visual weight and easier functionality.

Installing cabinet pulls without a template takes a little extra precision, and we don’t recommend it for first-time or new installs. If you go this route, measure carefully from the edges of each drawer or door to mark consistent placement. Use a ruler or tape measure and double-check before drilling.

Pilot holes help guide the screws and keep everything aligned. If you're swapping out old hardware, it's a lot easier - just reuse the existing holes for a quick and clean update.
