Appliance Pulls

The size of your balance pull depends on the size of the respective door or drawer you will be installing it on. For a proportional look, opt for pulls that are 12 to 18 inches in length for your dishwasher or smaller appliances. Standard refrigerators can look good with pulls that are 12, 18 or even up to 24 inches in length. Smaller fridges can use smaller appliance pulls, usually 12 inches in length. Ideally the length of your appliance pull spans 2/3 to 3/4 of the panel width.

An appliance pull is a sturdy, oversized handle designed for panel-ready kitchen appliances like dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezer drawers. It has bigger proportions across the board compared to complementary cabinet pull handles. All of our solid brass hardware collections offer 12" and 18" center to center appliance pulls to complement the cabinet knobs and pull handles you may also be using in your kitchen, bar, or space. Our appliance pulls are crafted from solid brass, like the rest of our hardware items, which ensures exceptional durability over time.

While you can technically install a cabinet pull handle on an appliance, we don't recommend it. Door and cabinet pull handles are different dimensions and proportions than appliance pulls. Appliance pulls are usually much sturdier, thicker, and bigger to help account for the increased weight of the appliances you will be using them on. Appliance handles are specifically designed to work with more weight and frequent use. These heftier pulls help ensure durability, the perfect grip, and the right size to match the heavy-duty appliances that we all love. Cabinet pull handles may not last over time when being used in such heavy instances. Best practice is to stick to cabinet pull handles on cabinet doors and drawers and appliance pull handles on appliances only.

While you can technically install an appliance pull on a standard cabinet door like a cabinet pull, we don't recommend it. There are several reasons why. First is cost. Appliance pulls are much thicker and heavier than normal pulls, so they are therefore much more expensive than typical cabinet pulls. Second, they are much heavier than standard cabinet pulls. Applying a heavy pull that is frequently used and pulling on your cabinet and drawer hinges that do not need to bear such weight can cause damage over time. You would want to check with your contractor, cabinet maker, or whomever installed your cabinets to ensure the doors and hinges can support that much weight and pulling over a long time. Best practice is to stick to cabinet pull handles on cabinet doors and drawers and appliance pull handles on appliances only.
