Appliance Pulls

The size of your appliance pull should match the scale of the panel or door it’s going on. For dishwashers or smaller appliances, pulls between 12 and 18 inches usually work well. Standard refrigerators can handle 12", 18", or even up to 24" pulls, depending on your layout.

As a general rule, aim for your pull to span about two-thirds to three-quarters of the appliance panel width for a balanced, proportional look.

An appliance pull is a larger, more durable handle made for panel-ready kitchen appliances like refrigerators, dishwashers, and freezer drawers. Its oversized proportions are designed to match the scale and weight of appliance panels, offering both strength and balance.

Technically, yes - but we don’t recommend it. Cabinet pulls and appliance pulls are built differently. Appliance pulls are thicker, sturdier, and sized to handle the weight and frequent use of panel-ready refrigerators, dishwashers, and freezers.

Using a standard cabinet pull on an appliance can lead to issues with durability and comfort over time. For the best fit and longest lifespan, we suggest using cabinet pulls on doors and drawers, and appliance pulls on appliances.

Using one on a standard cabinet door could put unnecessary stress on the hinges and hardware, especially over time. If you’re considering it, check with your contractor or cabinet maker to make sure the door and hinges can support the extra weight. In most cases, it’s best to stick to cabinet pulls for cabinet doors and drawers, and appliance pulls for appliances.
